Specialty Risk International, Inc. (SRI) began offering international medical insurance to the worldwide community in 1993. The company was founded by international insurance professionals with a strong commitment to customer service and a belief that the public deserved reliability when purchasing international insurance.

Travel, whether it is domestic or international, brings with it a certain degree of risk. Regardless of where in the world you intend to venture, SRI will be there to support and assist you. From issuing ID Cards the same day to providing 24-hour multilingual assistance services, SRI is dedicated to the service and travels of our clientele.

The people involved...

• Administration/Enrollment - Since it's inception in 1993, SRI has brought new service standards to the industry. Mailed or faxed applications received at SRI's office by 2 pm local time will be processed that same day with ID Cards going out in the day's mail. Persons purchasing travel coverage online will receive their Virtual ID Card immediately by email with a physical ID Card following in the regular mail.
• Customer Service / Assistance Services - Our Customer Service unit, staffed with professionals knowledgeable in SRI's products, is prepared to answer questions about any one of our more than 7 programs. The Assistance department is available to help you during your trip. Multilingual professionals are there 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist you with such important services as locating a physician and performing an emergency evacuation.
• Claims - When the unexpected does occur overseas, our staff is prepared to address those medical claims submitted to us efficiently and directly as possible. When dealing with a medical situation while outside of your home country, you don't want to rely on a company whose primary objective is delay and mislead. SRI attempts to ensure that your requests for claim reimbursements are dealt with as quickly as possible.

Within the insurance industry, SRI is considered a Managing General Underwriter. We administer applications, process claims, pay agent commissions, etc on behalf of various insurance companies. Our dedication to providing our clients with the best coverage has led us to secure the services of four different insurance companies to underwrite our programs. To this end, our insureds receive the best coverage available from a selection of the best insurance companies in the industry.

Your right to privacy is a concern to us. At SRI, we work to maintain your privacy while providing competitive international insurance products. In a few sections of our site, we ask that you provide basic information about yourself (name, date of birth). This information is only used to provide you with a no-obligation premium quote. Only when you decide to purchase online do we ask more detailed information such as address and credit card data. At no time will SRI sell or give your personal information or email address to an outside company for marketing purposes. SRI utilizes the benefits of a secured server to process the online applications.

The true value of an insurance product is the stability and security of the company underwriting the coverage and we feel U.S. companies are the best way to accomplish this objective. SRI uses United States - based insurance companies to underwrite as many of its products as possible. While you may have seen other "A" rated companies offering international products, many of these companies are in fact, located outside the United States.
